2. Reduction of Sexual Assault Victims and Women’s Empowerment in Nepal
Every day, thousands of girls face abuse and violence, often in silence. Globally, over 370 million girls and women (1 in 8) have experienced sexual assault before the age of 18. In Nepal, thousands of cases are reported each year, many involving young girls. These numbers show how urgent it is to empower girls and support them to and speak up and protect themselves.
Following this, the main goal of this project is to empower girls by helping them understand different forms of abuse and violence, while also encouraging them to challenge harmful social stigmas and taboos. We also provide emotional support to strengthen their mental and emotional well-being, helping them feel safe, confident, and valued. The major topics covered under this project are,
- Sexual and reproductive health
- Menstrual hygiene and overall well-being
- Women’s empowerment and leadership
- Preventing sexual abuse and recognizing unsafe situations
This initiative creates a safe space where young girls can learn and express themselves. It inspires and encourages them to challenge social stigmas, develop resilience and feel confident and empowered in every aspect of their lives.
Objectives of our program
- Provide accurate and accessible sexual and reproductive health education.
- Offer information and access to support resources for safety and well-being.
