1. Social Center and Pre-school Education Support
The Adult Entertainment Sector (AES) in Nepal is a hidden reality across many urban areas. Many women and girls are drawn into it due to poverty, limited job opportunities, or the absence of family support and stability. This project is designed to provide a safe space to the girls and women who work in the Adult Entertainment Sector (AES), where they have to suffer from the sexual exploitation and various difficulties. Behind the bright lights and nightlife of massage and spa centers, dance bars, Dohori etc, many face unsafe working conditions, sexual exploitation, social stigma and a constant struggle to protect their dignity and future. These challenges rarely make it into public conversations, but they shape every aspect of their lives.
‘Social Center and Pre-School Education Support’ is designed to create a safe and respectful space for these women and girls. We have a simple goal; to help them navigate personal and professional challenges, build alternatives for sustainable livelihoods, and develop skills that help in their empowerment and independence. We work to understand the realities they face and support them not just as workers, but as individuals who deserve security, choice, and the chance to rebuild their lives. Through skill-building, guidance, and practical opportunities, we aim to help them transition toward safer, more sustainable sources of income, restoring dignity and long-term independence.
We also extend our support to children who accompany their mothers to AES workplaces. Many of them usually spend long hours in unsafe spaces with no supervision, which affects their holistic development, confidence, and overall well-being. By ensuring their safety and providing proper care, we work to break the cycle of vulnerability by offering them encouragement and opportunities their current environment often cannot provide.
These are the major services we provide to women and girls:
-
- Psychosocial counseling to support emotional and mental well-being
Psychosocial counseling gives women and girls a safe space where someone genuinely listens, understands, and stays with them. Many come when they are exhausted from overwork, shaken by stress or anxiety, or feeling completely alone without family support. Some are quietly fighting darker thoughts like suicide, afraid to voice them anywhere else. In both individual and group sessions, counselors meet them with warmth, patience, and no judgment. With time, they rediscover their voice, confidence, and the courage to keep moving forward.
B. Parental education sessions to strengthen caregiving skills
Many of the women we support are raising children in unsafe or unstable environments where daily life is a struggle. Our parental education sessions help them in creating safety and stability for their children. Through supportive guidance and discussion, they learn how to nurture children’s wellbeing in their homes. These sessions help them feel more confident and capable as caregivers, giving both themselves and their children a chance to break free from the cycle of vulnerability and grow stronger together.
C. Family visits, counseling, and assistance in reintegrating with families
Under our Family Development Methodology, we conduct home visits for women and girls facing challenges in five key areas: legal, health, psychosocial, economic, and educational aspects. During these visits, we provide family counseling to understand the root causes of their problems and create an open, supportive space for discussion. By working closely with family members, we also develop an action plan to address the issues and ensure ongoing follow-up. This approach helps women and girls gradually reintegrate into their families with healthier relationships, and practical solutions to their previous challenges.
D. Legal counseling and support for rights, safety and justice
We also provide legal counseling and support to women and girls to protect their rights, safety, and provide access to justice if required. Many face complex challenges such as polygamy, domestic conflicts, inheritance disputes, or issues related to children with unknown fathers, which can create serious problems with citizenship and legal recognition. Through counseling, we help them understand their rights, navigate the legal system, and make decisions. We also offer practical support by connecting them with legal aid and advocating on their behalf so that they can secure their rights, ensure safety, and work toward just outcomes for themselves and their children.
E. Regular health checkups and women’s health–focused medical camps
We organize regular health checkups and women’s health–focused medical camps to ensure that women and girls have access to essential healthcare. Many of them face barriers to medical services, whether due to financial constraints, social stigma, or lack of awareness. These camps provide medical checkups, consultations, and preventive care regarding various mental health issues, STIs and other diseases or infections regarding the uterus. Besides, we also provide basic medicines and refer patients to hospitals if required. By offering a safe and supportive environment, we help women detect health issues early, receive timely treatment and gain knowledge and resources to take better care of themselves and their families.
F. Support in accessing vocational training and income-generation opportunities
We support women and girls in accessing vocational training and income-generation opportunities to help them build independence and secure a sustainable livelihood which helps them to encourage to come out from entertainment sector. Training programs cover a range of skills, from scooters and barista courses to bakery, tailoring, and creative occupations like making bracelets, beads, and paper roses through occupational therapy. By learning these skills, women gain expertise and the chance to earn an income, empowering them to support themselves and their families while opening doors to new opportunities for personal and professional growth.
G. Skill-building and empowerment training
We provide skill-building and empowerment training designed to help women focus on self-empowerment. We organize the practical based session on the training which helps them to relate with their present life and improves their personal and professional life. The session helps them to recognize the relationship with self and others deeply which helps them to manage the stress, anxiety, fear, and anger of their life. They can visualize their dreams which helps them to move forward their goal and helps to live an organized, happy, and dignified life.
H. Weekly Early Childhood Development (ECD) sessions for children who accompany their mothers
We conduct weekly Early Childhood Development (ECD) sessions for children who accompany their mothers, creating a safe and engaging space filled with dance, colors and songs. These sessions focus on cognitive, emotional, and motor development through age-appropriate activities and creative exercises. By providing consistent learning opportunities, we support children’s overall growth while giving mothers the peace of mind that their children are cared for in a nurturing environment. This approach not only promotes early learning but also strengthens the bond between mother and child, laying a foundation for healthy development.
